Lazuli Bunting (Passerina Amoena)
18 x 24"
The male Lazuli Bunting (from the West) is commonly found in summer singing in the open. The females are more elusive and stay with the nest in thick bushes. Males may help with feeding the young after they fledge. The diet consists of insects, seeds, grasses, and grain while seeds make up most of the winter diet. Males will sing to defend territory. Nests are found in shrubs, vines or low trees about two to four feet above ground.
