American Robin Flight and Song

32 x 40"

The American Robin has been described as "America's Favorite Songbird" and its arrival in spring in the northern latitudes across backyards with its loud, musical voice make it one of the most recognizable birds in North America.  It has a huge range.

Up to 85 percent of the robin's song is unique and individuals mostly invent song elements.  The invention occurs early in song acquisition and when in more established environments.  They include clear whistles and complex familiar syllables of clear, caroling, i.e., cheerily, cheer up, cheer up, cheerily, cheer up.
