Rose Breasted Grosbeak and Song
11 x 14" ink and acrylic on clayboard
This beautiful bird is found in parts of Canada, North Central and Northeastern United States. It is fairly common and winters in Central and South America. The female is striped brown and decidedly different in appearance than the male, but both have melodic songs, share incubation, brooding, and feeding duties on the nest. This one is shown with part of its song with a quirkly nod to his head. I found him in the Ann Arbor area.
